Present Indefinite Tense in Urdu and English
Tenses have a vital role in the English language. In this article, we will learn about the Present Indefinite Tense in Urdu, this tense is used when we talk about our daily routine, universal facts or something that happens daily.
Present Indefinite Tense in Urdu with Examples
This lesson is number one in the tenses series.
:اردو پہچان
وہ تمام فقرات جن کے آخر میں تاہے، تی ہے، تے ہیں، تا ہوں وغیرہ آتا ہو۔
1: We use the verb 1st form in the Present Indefinite Tense.
2: If the subject is singular (he, she, it, or any singular name) we use “s, es, ies” after the 1st form of the verb in positive sentences.
For example:
| We daily go to school. | ہم روز سکول جاتے ہیں۔ |
| He goes to school. | وہ سکول جاتا ہے۔ |
| Children play football. | بچے فٹبال کھیلتے ہیں۔ |
3: The helping verb for this tense is “Does not” for singular subjects and “Does not” for plural subjects.
4: When does not is used in sentences, we do not add “s, es,ies” with the main verb.
| They do not play cricket. | وہ کرکٹ نہییں کھیلتے ہیں۔ |
| He does not go to the office. | وہ دفتر نہیں جاتا ہے۔ |
| We do not eat fish. | ہم مچھلی نہیں کھاتے ہیں۔ |
5: In interrogative sentences, we use the helping verb at the beginning of the sentences and at the end of the sentences we put the question mark (?).
| Do they play? | کیا وہ کھیلتے ہیں؟ |
| Does he read a book? | کیا وہ کتاب پڑھتا ہے؟ |
| Does she go to college? | کیا وہ کالج جاتا ہے؟ |

| Razia opens the door. | رازیہ دروازہ کھولتی ہے۔ |

Present Indefinite Tense with Negative Sentences

Structure: Subject + HV + not + 1st V + object + .

| It does not rain. | بارش نہیں ہوتی ہے۔ |
