Present Continuous Tense with Examples in Urdu
Present continuous tense is used for those actions that are happening right now.
پہچان: اردو فقرات کے آخر میں رہا ہوں’ رہےہیں’ رہا ہے’ رہی ہے، وغیرہ آتا ہے۔
فارم استعمال ہوتی ہے۔ ing کی Verb اور پھر Is, Am, Are فعل حال جاری میں فاعل کے بعد
:جیسے
وغیرہ۔ going, writing, reading, listening, singing
Helping Verbs:
Is = he, she, it and any singular name or thing.
Am = I
Are = they, we, you, and any plural name or thing.
Examples:
I am drinking water.
میں پانی پی رہا ہوں۔
He is drinking water.
وہ پا نی پی رہا ہے۔
They are singing a song.
وہ گانا گا رہے ہیں۔
فارم Ing کی Verb اور پھر is/am/are + not فعل حال جاری نفی بنانے کے لئے فاعل کے بعد
استعمال کرتے ہیں۔
I am not taking exercise.
میں ورزش نہیں کر رہا۔
He is not taking exercise.
وہ ورزش نہیں کررہا۔
is, are, amفعل حال جاری سوالیہ بنانے کے لئے فقرے کے شروع میں سوالیہ الفاظ ہوں تو
فارم لگائیں آخرمیںing کیVerbلگا ئیں پھر فاعل اور پھر Is/Am/Are سے پہلے لگا ئیں، وگرنہ
سوالیہ نشان ضرور لگا ئیں جیسے
Am I taking tea?
کیا میں چائے بی رہا ہوں؟
Are they taking tea?
کیا وہ چا ئے بی رہے ہیں؟

Structure: Subject + H.V + Verb 1st Form + ing + Object + .
Examples:
He is solving sums. | وہ سوالات حل کر رہا ہے۔ |
| Mother is making tea. | امی چائے بنا رہی ہیں۔ |
| She is making tea. | وہ چائے بنا رہی ہے۔ |
| He is taking bath. | وہ نہا رہاہے۔ |
| You are taking bath. | تم نہا رہے ہو۔ |
| We are reading a book. | ہم کتاب پڑھ رہے ہیں۔ |
| They are running. | وہ دوڑ رہے ہیں۔ |
| He is having breakfast. | وہ ناشتہ کر رہا ہے۔ |
| Ali is having breakfast. | علی ناشتہ کر رہا ہے۔ |
| It Is raining heavily. | موسلادھار بارش ہو رہی ہے۔ |
| The stars are shining. | ستارے چمک رہے ہیں۔ |
| The sun is rising. | سورچ طلوع ہو رہا ہے۔ |
| I am writing an essay. | میں ایک مضمون لکھ رہا ہوں۔ |
| We are singing a song. | ہم گانا گا رہے ہیں۔ |
| I am singing a song. | میں گانا گا رہا ہوں۔ |
| Ali is planting there. | علی وہاں پودے لگا رہا ہے۔ |
| He is planting there. | وہ وہاں پودے لگا رہا ہے۔ |
| The farmer is ploughing. | کسان ہل چلا رہا ہے۔ |
Present Continuous Tense Negative Sentences
Structure: Subject + H.V + not + ing from + Object + .
Examples:
| They are not listening the radio. | وہ ریڈ یو نہیں سن رہے۔ |
| I am not whistling. | میں سٹی نہیں بجا رہا۔ |
| Saima is not playing. | صا ئمہ نہیں کھیل رہی۔ |
| Suleman is not playing. | سلیمان نہیں کھیل رہا۔ |
| It is not raining. | بارش نہیں ہو رہی۔ |
| She is not making tea. | وہ چائے نہیں بنا رہی۔ |
| Alia is not studying. | عالیہ مطالعہ نہیں کر رہی۔ |
| Ali is not getting first. | علی اول نہیں آرہا۔ |
| He is not getting first | وہ اول نہیں آرہا۔ |
| You are not working. | تم کام نہیں کر رہے۔ |
| He is not working. | وہ کام نہیں کر رہا۔ |
| I am not sitting. | میں بیٹھا نہیں ہوا۔ |
| He is not coming soon. | وہ جلد نہیں آرہا۔ |
| We are not going soon. | ہم جلد نہیں جارہے۔ |
| You are not driving. | تم (گاڑی) نہیں چلا رہے۔ |
| Shazia is not driving. | شازیہ (گاڑی) نہیں چلا رہی۔ |
| She is not praying. | وہ دعا نہیں کر رہی۔ |
| They are not praying. | وہ دعا نہیں کر رہے۔ |
Present Continuous Tense Interrogative Sentences
Structure: H.V + Subject + Verb ing + Object +?
Examples:
| Is she watching TV? | کیا وہ ٹی، وی دیکھ رہی ہے؟ |
| Are you reading a book? | کیا تم ایک کتاب پڑھ رہے ہو۔ |
| Is she reading a book? | کیا وہ ایک کتاب پڑھ رہی ہے؟ |
| Is Ali helping you? | کیا علی تہماری مدد کر رہا ہے؟ |
| Is he helping you? | کیا وہ تہماری مدد کر رہا ہے؟ |
| Are the clouds thundering? | کیا بادل گرج رہے ہیں؟ |
| Who is knocking at the door? | کون دروازے پر دستک دے رہا ہے؟ |
| Is it raining? | کیا باارش ہو رہی ہے؟ |
| Is Alia making a noise? | کیا عالیہ شور مچا رہی ہے؟ |
| Is Ali making noise? | کیا علی شور مچا رہا ہے؟ |
| Are you singing a song? | کیا تم گانا گا رہے ہو؟ |
| Is she singing a song? | کیا وہ گانا گا رہی ہے؟ |

| Are you feeling asleep۔ | کیا تہمیں نیند آرہی ہے۔ |
| Is he ironing clothes۔ | کیا وہ کپڑے استری کر رہا ہے۔ |
| Boys are not plying kites۔ | لڑکے پتنگیں نہیں اڑا رہےَ۔ |
| Are they boiling water۔ | کیا وہ پانی ابال رہے ہیں۔ |
| Is the sun shining۔ | کیا سورج چمک رہا ہے۔ |
| We are buying books۔ | ہم کتا بیں خرید رہے ہیں۔ |
| He is sleeping. | وہ سو رہا ہے۔ |
| Is it drizzling? | کیا بوندا باندی ہو رہی ہے؟ |
| The sun is not setting. | سورج غروب نہیں ہو رہا۔ |
| He is not throwing ball. | وہ گیند نہیں پھینک رہا۔ |
